OHLP Board Member Impact

OHLP Board Member, Don Jason, Presented at the 2025 Ohio Society for Public Health Education
Don Jason, MLIS, MS (UC CECH Doctoral Student, UC Libraries - OHLP Board Member) and Danielle Pierre Hixon, MPH, CHES® (UC CECH Doctoral Student, UC Blue Ash) delivered a presentation titled, “Lifting As We Climb: Leveraging Academic/Community Partnerships in Health Education Research.” This session highlighted a year-long research collaboration with Black Women Cultivating Change, a Cincinnati-based nonprofit working to reduce mental health stigma in the Black community. In addition to sharing their findings, they provided practical strategies for building academic-community partnerships, securing funding, navigating IRB, recruiting participants, and adapting to research challenges.
